HopShock Brew Review by Bob “Silver Fox”

They Say:

“There’s nothing like the moody haze on early morning New England water to get your blood pumping. The assertive aroma of grapefruit and fresh hop flavors of this New England Style IPA will hit you like a trophy rainbow slamming a pheasant tail nymph.” (https://untappd.com/b/rivertowne-brewing-pennsylvania-hazy-morning/2528098)

HopShock Snapshot:

Style: New England IPA

ABV: 6.7%

IBU:  36

Global Untappd: 3.81/5

Looks Like:

The first thing I noticed was the color of this brew. At first glance it looks like a bad pour that is still foaming as it comes to the table, but it’s fine, it turns out to be the smooth color of butterscotch.

Smells Like:

A citrus aroma dominated the scent. Specifically, grapefruit seemed to be the prominent fruit I was smelling.

Tastes Like:

A light bitterness made this brew a good starter for those wanting to delve into the world of IPAs. The fruity citrus was sweet and inviting without being overpowering. I would give it a solid thumbs up for a good, mild tasting IPA.

Revelations/Recommendations:

If you enjoyed this hazy brew, the HopShock crew would recommend Sam Adams New England IPA or a locally brewed Space Cactus New England IPA from our friends at Grist House.

Bob’s Rating:  4/5 – Light, citrus, and refreshing
